A mobile phone for Christmas?
Children are more sensitive to environmental influences, including electromagnetic radiation, than adults. That is why children in particular are particularly at risk from the health effects of electromagnetic radiation, as studies show. Above all, high-frequency radiation, such as that emitted by mobile phones, tablets and other WLAN or Bluetooth devices, has been the subject of intense scientific debate for several years. In the meantime, a large number of studies have shown that children in particular, due to their physical constitution are exposed to serious health hazards through the use of smartphones, tablets and Co.
The brain of a child is thus exposed to the harmful radiation of mobile phone, WLAN and Bluetooth devices much more intensively than that of an adult. The potential health risk for children is significant and can lead to physical damage, disorders of the nervous and immune systems, as well as the psychological and behavioural disorders.

• In principle, the following applies: As little as possible and as long as necessary! I.e. using a tablet, laptop or smartphone should be limited to the bare minimum.
• Children under the age of eight should generally not use mobile phones, from the age of eight only in an emergency.
• The switched-on smartphone should not be carried on the body (e.g. in the trouser pocket); the laptop should not be placed on the knees or the lap. Various studies prove the impairment of fertility due to body-related WLAN radiation.
• As often as possible, turn off the mobile phone or set it on flight mode.
• When making calls, do not hold the mobile phone directly to the ear or the head – use a headset or the hands-free function instead.
Still: Life is hardly possible without a smartphone, tablet & co. Whether in class or doing homework: more and more schools are working digitally on a laptop or tablet. Therefore, it’s important to protect children from radiation exposure, which cannot be avoided.

Long-term consequences
The absorption of electromagnetic energy in a child's head is significantly higher than that in the head of an adult. The child's brain can be strained up to three times more than that of an adult, bones can be strained up to ten times more. In addition, deeper brain areas that are particularly sensitive are irradiated, such as the pituitary gland – virtually the control centre of our complex hormonal system.

Sparing use of digital media
Today's children are the first generation to grow up in the midst of high-frequency radiation from an early age. And radiation exposure continues to increase massively: In a few months, Germany will fully equipped with 5G so that data transfers are possible in real time. Against the background of learning on a laptop and the digitisation of schools, this seems quite reasonable – and necessary. However, with regard to the harmful effects on health, more and more experts are pushing to keep children away from digital media.5 Tips for the correct handling of digital media
Today's children are growing up in a digital world. To completely deny them access to this world is hardly possible – and also not useful. We therefore recommend responsible handling of digital media. Here are 5 helpful tips:• In principle, the following applies: As little as possible and as long as necessary!
